I am a
sociologist and european anthropologist working at the University
of Zürich. Currently I am engaged in a research project on change
of use of buildings. First I reconstruct the history of the
concept of change of use. Second I do an ethnography of the change
of use of sacred buildings (churches and mosques). See the article
section. I also wrote a book
and several articles on how environmental consulting operates
between science, economy and politics.
I also work on art
projects that link science studies, ethnography and art. With my
colleagues Bernd Kräftner and Judith Kröll, we develop
'incubations', where ethnographies of expert practices are formed
to create new worlds and exhibitions.
A
third focus of my work is the merging of social science and
cooking.
